Call to prosecute over 'gay Jesus'

LONDON, England (Reuters) -- A group of Christian protesters in Scotland has called on police to prosecute a theater company for blasphemy because it is putting on a play about a gay Jesus.

"If there is a blasphemy like this, Christians have to stand up," said Stephen Green of Christian Voice who protested outside a theatre showing Terence McNally's controversial play "Corpus Christi" at St Andrews University.

"Jesus Christ is being portrayed here as a foul-mouthed, drunken, promiscuous homosexual and that is an insult to my faith," Green told BBC Radio.

But the play's director, Zsuzsi Lyndsay, defended the production: "He is not portrayed as a drunken foulmouth. He doesn't say one bad word throughout the play."

Christian Voice was not placated. It has formally lodged a complaint with police, arguing that the American playwright's work was blasphemous. No decision has been taken yet.

Oh yeah, that's right. Someone has a different opinion about God Jr., so let's call the police and press charges. This planet is WAY too busy being offended by ideas. Children are being murdered, entire countries are starving, and these close-minded fools feel the need to complain about someone who thinks Jesus may have preferred the taste of a man? Get a grip! You people made Him white, why not gay? It's apparently okay to change His ethnicity, but give Him an erection when an apostle bends over and all hell breaks loose! This whole fiasco has Christians longing for the days when it was questioned whether Jesus had an affair with a prostitute. At least SHE was female, and hasn't that been the rallying cry of chauvanist conservative men for ages? Jesus Christ. Just a good 'ole boy.

Musical Persecution

The most unbelievable aspect of the above sentence is that somebody actually wrote it. This disturbed the public? They forced a man to play his violin? Those dirty bastards! Those heathens! I'm confused. When innocent people are killed on a bus by a murderous lunatic with explosives strapped to his/her chest, it's page six news. But, when Jewish soldiers have the audacity to force a man to play his violin, STOP THE PRESSES!!

A Leap of Faith

I'm not a fan of suicide. I think it's weak, and pitiful. I've been down on my luck plenty of times, but I've never had the audacity to want to take my own life. It doesn't belong to me (nor my demon).
But, if you're going to kill yourself, at least do it with bravado. Do it in such a way that 1) It cannot be reversed, and 2) It gets printed in a lot of newspapers. For example: Jump off of the Empire State Building. Now, I'm not encouraging anybody to do this. That would be silly. Like I said, suicide is for losers. Which, I guess, is why they're committing suicide. But, I digress.
Apparently, according to this very sad story, there have been two such suicides this year. In fact, in the history of the ESB (empirestatebuilding), there have been 35.
Personally, if I had to choose, I just wouldn't die. I'd never die. There really isn't a pleasant way to die. Except, maybe, with a lot of medication.

This is very telling. According to Christians, those of us who believe or act differently suffer from demon possession. Demon possession! The last time I spoke with my own personal demon, he informed me that not many people are actually possessed, despite popular opinion.
Not only do they believe that we are possessed, they have the sick audacity to believe that they can cure us.
Fine. But, please, get my permission first, would ya?

Sick, sick

Please forgive my absence.
I've been locked up in a sick-room, fighting the plague, smoking enough of the green stuff to make me ancient, and contemplating my Americanism. Godess bless America, right? Why the hell can't the President just say it? The universe is a woman. The universe is fertile and giving, full of life. Mr. Bush believes in the male, biblical deity. Why can't we just proclaim the true truth? We know nothing, and are nothing.
I get sick of saying it. Nobody cares. While rational people relent to comfort, conservative blow-hards are stealing our country. Everybody knows that Thomas Jefferson was an animist. George Washington only proclaimed Christianity because John Adams had threatened to kill him if he didn't. John Adams created the second amendment. I say we propose a new Amendment, called the Adams Amendment, which removes all rights to bear arms. That way, we can finally take the guns away from republicans, and take this country away from them. This country should belong to Socialism, an equality.

Acid Rain

The Clinton library opened today with a depressing downpour. Rain? No, I'm talking about the backhanded compliments from the two Bushs. The next time a Democrat throws a party, and I see the anti-Christ and his father in attendance, I'll stab myself with a McDonald's straw (I hate pain; it would be purely ceremonial). But, next time they're allowed to speak, please force them to use the second stage, the one without microphones. I'm still chipping the evil out of my ears.

Clinton upheld many ideals that I hold dear (not all, by any stretch). That he allowed W to attend, and speak, is deplorable. This man is responsible for reducing our nation to a voiceless mass of sheep, straining at the whims of a fervently religious (slight) majority. The CIA is being remade to look like the KGB; the Democrats are falling into the Libertarian-sort of superfluity. Soon, I fear, America will be a party-less oligarchy, ruled by Christian tyrants.
